1. Seagulls and Stripes

    IMG_5407

Boo and I ventured out to the beach this weekend. It wasn’t the most ideal beach day- it was a bit chilly and incredibly windy (hence the really stringy, gross hair). But it was practically empty, and therefore really quiet and peaceful. So we cuddled up under the blanket and gave names to the seagulls as they wandered about around us. There was Bob 1and Bob 2, and Frank, among others. We’re real original with names, obviously.

  2. Bananas

    IMG_3996

Like I mentioned yesterday, this past weekend was actually spent running errands and working on projects. But when Boo suggested we stop at the park for a picnic and outfit photos, I made sure to grab this hat. It makes me feel fancy. And feeling fancy is important when you are spending the majority of your days in oversized, paint covered sweatpants.

Also, I’ve had this tank for a long time. Since high school, actually. Sooooo, like, 7 years-ish? It’s from Hollister, which I hate. But it has bananas on it, which I love. So it all evens out in the end.

  3. Boo’s Closet

    IMG_1637

I stole this shirt from Boo’s side of the closet. It just seemed way more comfy than anything on my side. It was just that kind of day.

On that note - happy friday! I’m off to Buffalo for the long weekend, which includes my bridal shower!  What are your plans for the holiday?

  4. Fiesta Swap

    IMG_0319

On Wednesday evening, I attended The Swapaholics Fiesta Swap held at 40 Berkeley. There were pretty clothes, beergaritas and burritos, and photo booth fun. Overall, another successful swap :)

If you are in Boston, did you know that there are monthly swaps being held at 40 Berkely this year? The next one is June 20th, and it is cocktail/wedding themed! How perfect!

  5. The Incredible Traveling Outfit

    Untitled-1IMG_8052

There was a lot riding on my outfit  for our trip to NYC this past weekend. We had a 4 hour train ride, followed by 4 hours of walking around the city before my appointment - so I needed comfort. The weather was looking unpredictable - so I needed layers. And I had my dress fitting- so I needed something easy to get in and out of. Plus, I didn’t have much room - so I need something I could pack easily into a small space the next day.

But I think I found the perfect combo! I couldn’t have been more comfortable all day. And, the weather ended up being gorgeous, so we spent the last couple of hours before my fitting just hanging out in the park. It was absolutely fantastic.

  6. Floral Pants and Peanut Butter Pie

    IMG_6931

I finally got my hands on a pair of floral pants! It’s been one of my favorite trends this season, so I was more than ecstatic when I found these babies. I like them because they are a little more subtle than some of the other versions that I’ve seen. Although, I’m also a fan of the loud, bold ones as well!

This was my second birthday weekend outfit. We managed to sneak these photos in before the downpour came. With it raining all day, Boo and I spent a quiet evening at the movies and out to dinner. And by dinner, I mean peanut butter pie and creme brûlée. Yum!

P.S- friday is the deadline for the clutch DIY party! Don’t forget to send over the photos of your clutches to Linda  or I.

  7. Flamingos, and Giraffes, and Deer, Oh My!

    IMG_6325

Where did I wanna spend my 25th Birthday? At the zoo, of course! The last few years that I lived in Buffalo, it kind of became tradition for Boo and I to go to the zoo right around my birthday. So I was really excited when the weather was so nice this past saturday, so we could carry on the tradition! I posted a few photos in my instagram recap yesterday, so I won’t overload on the animal photos.

Instead, lets talk about my dress! If you follow along on Instagram, you may have seen that I was making myself a birthday dress. Well, ta-daaaaaaa. I picked this fabric up on a whim from the clearance section of Joanns. I had planned to whip up my own design, but seeing as I waited until the last minute (typical), I ended up using this Colette pattern. And I love it! Although, I’m pretty sure the pattern was designed for busty gals, because I had to alter it a loooooot up top. So be warned, if you want to give this pattern a try yourself!
