Seriously. I think it is pretty all the time, but this time of year is my absolute favorite. My favorite time to explore and enjoy this city. And Saturday was one of those days for us.

We walked around Beacon Hill (oh, the pretty buildings), laid a blanket out in The Common (oh, the people watching), took in all the pretty flowers (oh, all the colors!). And we even added a new little four-legged member to our family. Best.Day.Ever. But more on that tomorrow ;)

» This week on Design Diary, I shared a tutorial on how to sew buttons using your machine, and a colorblocked Kelly skirt (above). 

» It seems I find a new swimsuit every week that I think I need (can you tell I’m ready for summer?). This week, it is this one. 

» I’m still at a lose for words for what happened here in Boston monday. I’ve been loving all the little bits of love for the city - little handwritten notes left in random spots, and my hockey team, the Buffalo Sabres, saluting the Boston fans alongside the Bruins after wednesday’s game. And that national anthem? Ugh, so good. UPDATE: THINGS HAVE GOTTEN CRAZY. IF YOU LIVE IN THE AREA, STAY INSIDE AND STAY SAFE. I’m not going anywhere today. 

» No new projects this week on Design Diary (don’t worry - I’m saving them up for next week!). But I did talk about the importance of good packaging, and introduced April’s Featured Designer - Merl of Clyde’s Rebirth!

» I really, really want to make this lip scrub that Megan created. I love lip scrubs, and I bet it tastes so yummy!

It’s April, you guys! And I’ve officially sworn off tights. Even if the breeze still gives my bare legs goosebumps. 

Boo and I took full advantage of the nicer weather this weekend. We walked up and down the streets of the North End, grabbed Italian for lunch (and canollis for snack), sat by the waterfront and watched the sailboats, packed some sandwiches and headed to the park, chased around some ducks and geese, and had a few cups of Starbucks. Phew, that was a lot. But I’m really excited to have a whole lot more weekends like this one this spring and summer. Fo realz.

Well, we’ve made it though the Blizzard of ‘13. There was lots of tea, scrabble, and naps involved. As well as a lot of shoveling. And maybe a few unsuccessful snow angels. 

It looks like this snow may be sticking around for a while. So I hope all of my fellow friends in the Northeast are staying warm!
